The newest addition to the LBSC fleet, Hope, skipper Martin Shairp, plays host to thirsty members at the end of the Campbell's Trophy race to Isle Martin which, by rights, her skipper firmly believes, if there's any justice, she will have won (he'll learn...)

Expert Sailing Tuition: Saturday 21st July

John Simpson from the Scottish National Sailing Centre will be around on Saturday to help us sail better, racing and cruising. Here's your chance to pick the brains of someone who knows what he's talking about (as opposed to...)

We'll have a chance to chat on Friday's curry night, when he'll be giving a short talk (see below), and that will give us a better idea about what people want and how to plan Saturday's activities.

The outline plan is as follows (weather depending)

1030-1130: classroom session in the club house with questions and answers on anything from how to read tell tales, to reefing  a pilot cutter in a gale in mid-Atlantic.

1200: early lunch and break for Committee Meeting

1300 onwards:  individual or group tuition. This could take the form of John coaching from the RIB, or on board. I know that some cruising members would like some one-to-one tuition.

Costs
We will be looking for £5 to £10/head depending on numbers.

Could you please advise me if you are interested in taking part on Saturday, and what you would like to learn more about. We can then make a more definite plan based on individual needs.
