The Shakedown Cruise 31st March 2014

30th May to 1st June
Three boats set forth on the Friday night in independent order; Twister, Kumari  and  Mollymawk.   What  little wind there was on the nose so under engine to the back passage of Tanera beg – Tradewinds was spied following us out, honourably under sail to anchor who knows where (if at all)!

If possible less wind but more sun – sights set for Lochinver:  For Mollymawk direct to the pontoons, it was  to be more of a shakedown weekend than a cruise – a lot needed sorting and a good chunk was done.  The pontoons was alive with others sorting out boats; Ian Boyd slapping liberal quantities of Teak Oil on many surfaces extoling the virtues of keeping the boat at Lochinver – Mhari Bhan looked comfortable at her mooring too.  Kumari and Twister arrived for tea after lunch and a siesta at Achmelvich; further shakedown activities for Sandy aboard the new yacht Kumari his to do list was almost insulting (lots of furniture polish to futher shine many gleaming surfaces.

Good grub, if basic, at the Caberfeidh; good sundowners; if excessive on Kumari.
Wind again on the nose back but drizzle clearing up:  Close encounters with a Liverpool coaster but otherwise, uneventful.  Pauses to check out Tanera and Isle Martin; home for tea.
