Loch Broom SC tops National Awards

First Dan and Charlotte's RCC Challenge Cup for an ambitious but inspirational transatlantic cruise (via the Gambia River, Cape Verdes, Caribbean, Peru (possibly), Antarctica (probably) and who knows where else, now Will Copestake scoops the Adventurer of the Year award.

This puts him in very auspicious company and is surely the spring board to ever greater and more ambitious challenges in the future, one of which (Kate tells me) is to successfully negotiate the small print, complex calculations and scary depths of his Tax Return. But then even George Mallory was hopeless at the small things.

The award was to celebrate the very best of adventure undertaken by individuals and teams from across England, Wales and Scotland.

Will himself was on route back from a kayak guiding job in Patagonia, but the ceremony was attended by proud parents.

Hats off to Will Copestake and sterling back up team of Kate and Paul.

Onward and upward or porro et sursum, as the Romans would say.
