Campbell Cup Latest

The plan so far...

Saturday 2 July
WEATHER
Probably breezy by midday from the SW/W, and getting breezier, but a close reach, most likely, and more sheltered round the back of Isle Martin and in the anchorage.

START 1pm, Ullapool
Iain Boyd has agreed to start the race from Romairi at 1pm, with help from Donald, having picked up Sandra Campbell from the pontoon who will blow the horn/whistle/fire the cannon...

The starting sequence will be the usual 5 minutes, 4 minutes,1 minute guns, START.

The line will most probably be the CalMac jetty in line with Romairi offshore, and quite a long line to avoid any incidents. Thence leave Winkie to starboard, Isle Martin clockwise,
finish in line with IM pontoon.

Yachts to take their own times, in the absence of anyone ashore at the finish. Sandy will work the handicaps.

RIB
The RIB (or ferry) will be on hand at Ardmair to take people to and from the mainland. Precise details later.

BBQ
Andy has a Sika haunch. Isle Martin has BBQ. Jason will be organising things (charcoal etc). Bring what else you need in the way of provisions and booze.
MILL HOUSE
This is booked for our use, and the other cottages could be opened if we need to. Contact John McIntyre if you want a cottage to yourself.

ISLAND WORK PARTY
John would be delighted if we could undertake an hour's worth of slashing and chopping. One strimmer on island, but the more the merrier, plus chainsaws welcome.

There are about three small tree stumps that need cutting off near ground level. They are currently several feet of trunk standing. There is a small forest of saplings that needs felling (all under 50 mm diameter.)

There as much strimming as anyone can do.
SUNDAY
There's strong support for a Ladies cruise back, that is women on the helm, men
taking orders, a race? Of course not...!
More later.
