Flying PortaPottie: Donald Replies

The skipper replies:

"Ahah!!...You have uncovered my cunning plan to keep "Black" afloat fund-wise, but installation is incomplete as yet.

The PortaPottie will be fitted in the traditional "Heads" position right up in the bow over the spinnaker chute which is then trunked to the self-bailer. When the flushing handle is depressed, the bailer opens to discharge the effluent. This action can only happen when the boat is moving...never on the mooring...in order to aid dispersal (and not to incur the wrath of SEPA) as per the railway systems. If anyone is caught short, they are welcome to come aboard but it'll cost them a pretty 1d, in fact £1 a shot and they will have to stand/sit to Loo-ward!!

By the way,"Black" is not the first FF in the fleet to have such a fitting...."Norma B." often has a Choppy Commode at the helm position where the Blake pump is situated!

You haven't got a small gas stove and sink unit by any chance... I'm thinking of installing a galley!

Actually, all the above is flip-flam and a smokescreen as what you see in the FFoto is what it is...a "Black Box" for recording races!...the cameras and voice recorders are still to be installed before the box is fitted in a less aero/hydro-dynamically challenging position. This will provide useful info in the event of race protests.
