Travelling Light: island voyages
An introductory stroll round An Talla Solais's brand-new exhibition accompanied by sea-stories from artists Ian Stephen and John Cumming, with a glass of wine and a chance to meet some of the exhibiting artists.
Friday 19th April 7-9pm, FREE, all welcome

Cast adrift
Sea poems and stories from the Western and Northern Isles told by Ian Stephen and John Cumming
Saturday 20th April, 7pm, FREE, all welcome

What we carry
A series of inspiring art workshops with Eleanor White. If you could only take a few things on a journey what would they be?  Use drawing and print techniques to create bottles, bags and postcards. 
23rd April and 3rd May, sessions each day at 10am – 12pm; 2-4pm; 7-9pm
£5 per session.  Please book in advance.  Age 16 and over only. You are welcome to book for more than one session.

Boats and boxes
Work with boatbuilder John McIntyre to craft a wooden box using boatbuilding techniques.
Thursday 2nd May, 6-9pm, £10 per person including materials; please book in advance.

Maritime sketchbook walk
As the first of our new Art Ranger series of sketchbook walks, spend a morning with artist Rachel Grant drawing round Ullapool Harbour.  Drawing materials provided, including a sketchbook to keep.
Monday May 6th 11am – 1pm, £10 per person.  Please book in advance.  Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Sail away with Ian Stephen and Christine Morrison
A half-day’s sailing with words and art on the traditional sgoth Jubilee (open fishing boat) from the Isle of Lewis.  Sailing from Ullapool Harbour.  No experience required: you will be taught the basics of this traditional sailing whilst being regaled with her history and stories, logging your journey through words, drawing and discovery. 
Monday 13th, Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th May sailing at 2pm, returning around 5pm (weather permitting; some last minute changes might be necessary).  £12 per person.  Booking essential.

Arrivals, Departures
An evening of curious insights into traditions of seafaring, departure and arrival from Scotland’s ports, through film.
Sunday 12th May at 8.30pm, AT THE HARBOUR MARQUEE, FREE entry but please book as numbers are limited.

Travelling Light exhibition
Showing work by David Cass, John Cumming, Will Maclean, Christine Morrison and Ian Stephen, Frances Pelly and Peter White with poet Jon Miller.  Work made during the activities will also be displayed as the project progresses.
Exhibition open daily 10am – 4pm from 19th April – 19th May; free entry.
