However, at the moment it is sheltering bags of rubbish from who knows where, for example, various broken oars, some items of bedraggled clothing and a pink marmoset.
What we need is a weekly rota to
keep an eye on the club and surrounds, tidy up if need be, vacuum occasionally (who hasn't yet...?), check lights are off
and make sure everything is secure. Five minutes perhaps, and certainly
not every day, but once or twice a week when
passing by, and report anything of concern. Maybe even open a window or two when the sun's out.
We had a couple of boats hijacked the other day and an outboard removed, but this is not the main reason for a rota.

We need to recruit 16 or so of the usual suspects,
those who regularly pass by the club.
So far we have six signed up, and two prepared to look in whenever they can.
Adrian, Mike, Paul, Neil, Shona and Jason, plus Sue and Chris when they can.
But we need more to fill the weeks beginning from mid-November onwards, ideally 16 names to take us into the new season.
One person, one week.
The obvious candidates are all who live in the village and who pass by regularly, as well as some skiffies who probably use the club more than anyone in the off-season.

Can you get back to me with a yes or no, and unless
anyone has any special dates, then I'll just pencil you in.
Please don't worry if you can't can't sign up to a
rota, but do feel free to drop by the club from time to time through the
winter.
But do let me know either way.
