Summer at Last? Four Go Wild in the Isles

You don't have to sail to Orkney, or even the Caribbean to find paradise. It's on our doorstep. No crowds, no noise, no powerboats, no one trying to sell you something, or charge for a mooring, or steal your dinghy. Just a few seals, the odd bird (but Paul will be on hand to identify) and solitude.

Sally II, Kumari, Mollymawk (off to deliver Kate) and Twister among the isles

Yup, these are the Summer Isles in August, Tanera Beag to be precise, and if you divulge the exact whereabouts... it won't matter, because only the brave sail these waters.

In short, these are our home grounds, with enough nooks and crannies to hide a hundred boats, and one day perhaps, we might see more than the usual suspects anchored among the islands.

Until then it's ours, all ours, and those members who would like to come and sail these waters, please ask around among those who have bigger boats, grab a sleeping bag and change of knickers, pack a bottle or two, bring some oilies as the weather is not always idyllic, and jump aboard.

NB no suitcases, umbrellas or naval officers allowed (an old nautical tradition...)

PS Dave went swimming, and also took these photos.
