Campbell Cup, Saturday July 2nd

The Round Isle Martin Race for the inaugural Campbell Cup will start from a line off Ullapool at 1pm on Saturday 2nd July. The course will be, leaving Winkie buoy to starboard, round Isle Martin, clockwise to a finish in line with the pontoon.

Sandy will supply the handicapping that worked effectively in 2015, the winner to receive a new trophy to be crafted by Charlotte Watters, and presented at the end of season dinner.

There is talk of a more relaxed race back, with boats skippered by the club's many capable woman members.

It is intended, weather permitting, that the club RIB will be used to ferry those without a boat from the Ardmair slip to the island and back.

Again, weather permitting, we may be able to take the Picos and/or Fevas to Ardmair for launching, followed by a sail to the island.

The club has booked the Mill House for those wanting to overnight, or escape from the midges.

The house has a working range, loo and fresh water, as well as a huge upstairs room with open fire, and bunk beds. Plenty of room if not beds for all.

No booking required, just first come. Bring sleeping bags etc, if you intend to make a night of it. If not, then the RIB will ferry those back to civilisation.

All plans subject to the usual LBSC programming vagaries. And, once again, weather.
