Dan and Charlotte Johnson slipped out of Loch Broom in the early hours, at the start of what could be a voyage lasting several years. A transatlantic passage certainly, then who knows? Brazil? Caribbean? Panama Canal? Loch Broom is connected to everywhere by the sea.
John McIntyre was on the pier as Hestur, the junk-rigged schooner they built at Leckmelm, slipped away. John was only just in time:
"My alarm clock died at 2.49 am so I was woken up by Charlotte and
Joanna texting! I got dressed in 23.678 ns [sic] and got to the pier as they
hoisted sail."
Hestur carries the burgee of the LBSC as well as the Royal Cruising Club.
