Calling All Stations; All Stations... 16 March, AGM, 7pm The Royal

Thanks to modern mobile communications systems Our Leader, Comodorisario Osbornio, has been able to rouse his followers from half way across the world, and thus from the oily fleshpots of Houston Texas comes this stirring message regarding the pending AGM on 16th March:

"Splendid ... the plan has hatched and the club soars to new heights with laser focus on new and challenging adventures... Management have said we have a new strategy which will promote growth, committe [sic] has said we have a fertiliser which will drive up new shoots... some old lags have said we have horse shit...

c y'all soon (scoofing free beer at Houston airport as we speak :-) )"

What passion! What commitment! What dedication! Bearing in mind the circumstances of the missive, the natural euphoria he must have been feeling concerning the pending transatlantic flight home to his loved ones (plus the free beer), we can forgive perhaps his somewhat febrile tone, but the sentiment is clearly there.

It is now for us to rise to the Commodore's challenge; gird our loins; strap on our wellies and start spreading that fertiliser of which he speaks so that new shoots can be driven up, not under the new hard standing, dare I say, but around the perimeter perhaps?

Let us not forget that the New Season will shortly be upon us. Can we equal, nay better the achievements of last year? Can we go further, faster, higher (?) longer? Will the venerable institution we call the Old Loch Broom thrive and expand?

Members all, it is up to us. And to have your say, you must be on the bus (or in the Royal) at or around 7pm on Saturday 16th March for the (legendary) Loch Broom Sailing Club Annual General Meeting.
