From the Commodore's Office

Hi
Earlier this month the sailing club held what was probably its first ever EGM!

The sole purpose was to review our membership structure and associated fees.

The new fees are given in the table below; these will apply for this year. To apply them will require a number of actions for all members:
  • What will your new membership be? Review your actual requirements! For example, what class of 'family' are you? Senior is defined as 65 or over; For families where the active members are only Pico users; would junior membership be more appropriate? Remember there is still casual day membership available the rate will between £5 and £10 depending on what activity you are engaged in.
  • Cancel your old standing order ASAP! if it has already been paid, liaise with John Coe to settling the difference (a cheque or one off payment would be easiest)
  • NB THOSE WITH PHONE OR INTERNET BANKING CAN CHANGE AND AMEND STANDING ORDERS VERY EASILY AND SIMPLY WITHOUT CANCELLING AND RE-ESTABLISHING ANEW
  • Set up a new Standing order. I attach a new form for you to complete and take to the bank [in Paul's email]. Club rules state that membership is due from the 1st of January and should be paid by the end of March: Our treasurer would like you to choose a date before mid Feb if possible.
  • Standing orders make the life of the treasurer easier though we know a few prefer other means of payment; can you again discuss with John; contact details below.
  • Complete the enclosed membership form; Can you please fill in the form attached [to Paul's email]; These records will be held confidentially for use by the committee for sailing club purposes only. Families now use a number of e-mail addresses and mobiles and it is helpful to know those which will be best for us to communicate with you. You can also opt to include a work phone and e-mail.
If you are no longer a member of the club or do not wish to continue can you please let us know.

With many thanks
